That's just one of many albums with which VLC pulls this strange stunt on. The cover on the right should be shown for both discs, the folders for each have the exact same copy of the image titled folder.jpg, yet VLC insists on mysteriously coming up with a way older, different and much lower resolution album cover for it that I had for both discs of that compilation in the past. But no luck, it seems to do whatever the hell it feels like when it comes to album art. I've tried deleting the aforementioned album cache, deleting and re-adding affected albums on the phone, as well as reinstalling VLC, with a perhaps superfluous restarting of phone in between, and searching and deleting all VLC related folders on the phone to ensure a fresh as possible reinstall. VLC however seems to be a completely different beast. Now I've come to learn that on Android merely changing the album art isn't usually enough to get music player apps to pick up the change and that you need to delete the album art cache at \Android\data\\albumthumbs in order to have it rebuilt. How exactly can you make VLC to get its together and show the correct album art?Īll the music on my phone has the same configuration of ID3v2.3 tags, no embedded art, and the cover pictures are as in-folder files titled "folder.jpg".
